@liamdiprose I think Matrix would be great in the future. Another obstacle that they need to overcome as well, multihome has been on their Todo list for a long time. In the short term, I’m thinking about Movim & eJabberd.
Movim would be a good social network, with eJabberd as the back end. Not perfect, but two birds with one stone. I can setup an anonymous/guest muc on ejabberd, with a really light web client.
That said, I really like SSB, as it doesn’t require registration, and all content is client side, the server is only used to tunnel connections from device to device. It’s also failure resistant, so can make direct connections on Bluetooth Cellular data, and home internet. It also has a unique way of replicating data across clients.
